Sky Q cancellation/ move query

I have been with Sky for just over 4 years, stuck with them through every price increase, outage and poor bandwidth speed due to "restrictions" in the area. So you may say I am a loyal customer.

I have recently purchased a new build house and moved into it. Due to the house being a new build my partner and Inhage decided we don't want an engineer drilling through the wall to connect a cable to a satellite dish which would also need drilling the side of the house.

So in my loyalty I decided to contact the sky service team to question if there was any alternatives I could switch too, so I continue my services and they still retained a customer, expecting that because I have been a customer for 4 years I would get a good deal.

OH HOW I WAS WRONG! Yes there are alternatives in the form of sky stream and sky glass. Could they give me a good deal to match that of my current packages (sky sig, sky sports hd etc)? No they could not. In fact to have the sky stream provision, I would have to pay a higher monthly fee, (for less features) and a one off cost for the box and re-sign a new 18 month contract.

So I queried how much it would be to cancel my contact outside of the end period, to which I was told I can't.

Would anyone know if this is true?

it's safe to say my feelings towards sky and being a repeat customer are pretty much void. I get it, their energy and good customer service/ deals goes into new customers and your repeat just fall to the back of the queue. Odd approach to business practice but hey ho if it keeps the money coming in for you . Keep up the "good work"  sky team. 👍

If you are within a minimum term then the contract explicitly says you cannot cancel.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own
