Sky Q box
I seem to have a problem that has been happening now for over a month. My sky box makes a loud noise and the my mini boxes won't work, I then have to turn off the main sky Q box at the wall and wait for 5 minutes before I turn it back on and it starts working again. Also if I pause the tele to do something when I get back the sky box has switched off.
can you help?
thank you

Could it be overheating?

Re: Sky Q box
We haven't moved the sky box in over 3 years so it can't be overheating problem as it's only been happening for around 6 weeks

Re: Sky Q box
Potentially not but the weather hasn't been 30C+ like it has recently for most of the last 3 years. Potentially could be dust build up in the air vents too.
But it also could be some corrupt file somewhere (setrings reset and then if that fails factory reset, loses all recordings) or even hardware component failure which would be box replacement last resort.

Re: Sky Q box
I've tried all the above after getting hold of someone at sky customer services, it seems that my box is a 2018 version, and it can't handle the new update properly so there sending me a new sky q box out, thank you all for the replies

Re: Sky Q box
In that case it'll probably be via a 'doorstep box swap' whereby a courier company (usually DPD in the UK) deliver a new box and take your pre-disconnected faulty box away so remember to remove the viewing card from the old box before it disappears into the van.
Also accept the power cable the courier brings in case it's a different fitting to the one you have.
