Sky Q box is noisy and won’t switch on

The main box sometimes gets very noisy when it's in standby and then won't switch on from the remote or the front controls.  This is happening almost daily once it's been in standby for a while.  I have to unplug it constantly then wait for it to work.  I don't know whether this is related, but the remote also chews through batteries with them not lasting much more than a fortnight before needing to be replaced.
