Sky Q box disconnects from wifi randomly. Sometimes weekly, sometimes multiple times a day.

I have a Sky Q box, with no other minis or sky boxes, its just the one device.  I have sky broadband and use their router for the vdsl, but all wifi is provided by a third party device. The Wifi on the sky router is turned off and will stay off). I probably have 20 other devices on my wifi, and not a single one of them has issues, it is just the sky q box. It will disconnect from wifi randomly. Sometimes it will be fine for a week, but sometimes i have to reconnect several times a day. I've just reset it for the second time today and its only lunch time. This is getting very annoying. I dont believe it is a hardware fault as the issues would be more uniform/consistent. This is a software issue that Sky needs to fix.  I'm very close to just sacking off sky as they are failing to provide working equipment and they keep putting up prices.  To top it off, they got rid of humans in the live chat and their AI Assistant is terrible.

Same issues. Just ordered new main box, can't order the SKY Q box at the same time. Having to wait on main one first. Ridiculous.

Exactly how are you connecting your main Q box by WiFi?

@oldfella By going to menu, settings, network connection, network setup, and selecting the second option for wifi (as im not using wps) then selecting the network and entering the password.

No option to connect your Q box by Ethernet @anondan ?

Unfortunately not, if there was i'd have done it!  And yes I know powerline is an option, but i'd rather not have to have more devices knocking around. The Sky Box has Wifi, it should blummin well work properly!!!
