Sky Q Remote & Mini Box

Hi,

 

My remote and/or one of my mini boxes has started to behave oddly.

 

A few months ago, I requested a new remote as half the buttons on my old remote were unresponsive. I paired it with my mini box and everything would work fine. However, after maybe 10 minutes, the remote stops controlling the mini box but continues to control the TV.

 

Sometimes, if I keep pressing the buttons on my remote then eventually it starts controlling the mini box, but after 10 minutes will become unresponsive again. Sometimes this doesn't work so I reset the remote by pressing the 7 & 9 buttons, but then it won't let me pair with my TV when pressing the 1 & 3 buttons, it just fails (on the odd occasion, it does pair with my TV). But after 10 minutes it will become unresponsive again anyway.

 

I originally thought I had a dodgy remote so requested a new one via the form but they said no, I assume because I ordered one not long ago. I have since swapped the remotes with one from another room and I've found that it's always the same mini box with the issues. Therefore, I'm now wondering if the mini box is faulty.

 

I've tried all the troubleshooting guides but nothing works, any suggestions?

Hi @Seraph81 


Try a Reset Settings in the mini box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.

Reset settings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the mini box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.

Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the mini box when you press 1 & 3 together.
