Have seem this alot on the forum here but never a resolution posted.
Our Sky Q recently lost connection to our BT router.
When we try to try to reconnect with the correct SSID and Password (which is 100% correct) we are just getting a message saying unsuccessful connection : Please check your password and try again.
I have done this many time over the years so know the basic process. Need some specific help with this issue which I have seen many other have had.
This has also knocked out our 2 Sky mini boxes, which is very frustrating.
Thanks in advance.

The 2.4 was already split out.
However I have had a result.
Although I had tried all manor of reboots and restarts previously I dialled it back to zero.
1. Powered off all Sky eqipment. (Sky Q, 2 x mini, wifi booster) and left it for an hour or so.
2. Rebooted the BT router.
3. Powered up SKY Q only. Selected the 2.4 SSID and applied PW. Low and behold victory, seemed to take an age to connect but it did it !
4. Powered up Sky wifi booster. Waiting for all 3 green lights.
5. Powered up Sky Mini 1. Had to do the reconnection process with main SKY Q box. But worked.
6. Powered up SKY Mini 2. That did an auto connect and configured new IP.
7. Made a coffee !
I can only suggest that the incorrect PW error is a complete red herring for some other connectivity error with the router.

I would try doing it with both minis powered completely off.

@Chodley Thanks for the tip, however powered off both mini's and the Sky wifi booster and I still get the same response.
I am guessing the next step is customer support and I am dreading that experieince before even picking up the phone !

@Benje just a thought have you tried resetting your router then rebooting your main Q box and trying to connect. If you have then just ignore this post 😁

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out morealso worth trying splitting the 2.4Ghz SSID on the BT router to a different name if you can.
