Sky Q Multiroom

Hi, when ordering Sky Q and Multiroom, do you only get the option for one Multiroom box? How would you add more and how much are they each please?

Thanks

@Thevoid

Multiroom is a Sky+ term. For Sky Q it's called Sky Multiscreen.

You can have a maximum of 4 mini boxes loaned to you by Sky. You can watch Sky content on two minis and the main box at the same time. You may be able to use a third mini box if the first one in use is being used for a streaming app ie: Netflix or DIsney+.

Be aware the older original 1TB (non-UHD) Sky Q box only allows one mini to be in use.

All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

Re: Sky Q Multiroom

Thanks. If the main box allows 2 mini boxes, how can you have up to 4?

Re: Sky Q Multiroom

So can I go for the 1TB box and still have 3 minis, but only watch TV on the main box and one mini box at the same time?

@Thevoid

Yes

1TB boxes are the standard issue Sky Q boxes now. I believe 2TB boxes are in short supply so are probably used to replace faulty 2TB boxes.

Depends on the hardware version of the 1Tb box.

Newer ones support 2 concurrent minis.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Re: Sky Q Multiroom

Thanks. How do you order more mini boxes and are they free with your subscription to multi screen?

£50 each admin fee for delivery I believe. Not sure how you order them. Had mine since the dawn of history 🤣

No

Main and two mini boxes (and 2 tablets on top of that) unless you have the really old 1TB main box referenced above.

Re: Sky Q Multiroom

Is that £50 per box?

It's a bit cheeky asking for another £50 to use a servicing you're already subscribing to (multiscreen)

Hi @Thevoid

Basically it's an activation charge.  Used to be an additional charge for viewing on another TV.
