Hi my Sky Q Mini Box won't work. When I switch the Mini Box on at the mains plug the red stand by light on the front of the Mini Box comes on for a couple of seconds and then goes off. I tried turning the Mini Box and TV off at the mains and back on again and also I turned off the main Sky Q box at the mains and back on again but this didn't work. The main Sky Q box is working fine. I turned off the Mini box at the mains then held down the reset button on the back of the Mini box and turned the Mini box back on at the mains and kept holding down the reset button for a minute but this didn't work either. I also just held down the reset button on the back of the Mini box without turning the Mini box off and the red light comes on and stays on but still the Mini box won't work. The only button on the remote control that brings on the red light on the remote is the ? Button and the rest of the buttons do nothing. I tried re pairing the remote to the Mini box by pressing down 7 and 9 and then pressing down 1 and 3 but nothing happens. Do I need a new Sky Mini Box?

Morning @SM221,
This sounds like a power supply issue which on the mini boxes is Inside the mini box itself.
I would recoomend you calling Sky and getting a replacement Mini box, the courrier usually do a swap at the door, so you give the delivery driver your old mini box and the delivery driver gives you the new one.

Thank you for your reply. I tried ringing Sky this morning first but I couldn't get speaking to a person and the automated service led me to the Sky forum. Do you know the phone number for Sky that I should ring?

The way I get through to someone is press the option for im a new customer/join sky tv, explain your issue and they will forward the call to the Relative department.

Just thought of something though, do you have another kettle lead, figure of 8 lead that you can try incase it's the power cable and not the box

No unfortunately I don't have another cable to try. I took the power cable out of the back of the mini box and when I put it back in the same thing just happens the stand by light comes on for a couple of seconds and then goes off. I tried pushing and holding the power cable in and wiggling it about but the light doesn't come on. I will try and get a replacement.

Look out for a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll then have 48 hours to click on it and join the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to each chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll just need to check the chat thread regularly.
