I have a Sky Q mini box which connects to the Sky Q box via ethernet using a 1Gbps unmanaged switch, Wi-Fi has been disabled on both devices.
If I am downloading a programme, I cannot watch anything on my Sky Q mini box including live TV until the download has completed. I can see the traffic flowing over the ethernet connection at around 100 Mbps, we'll within the capabilities of the switch.
What could be causing this issue and what can be done to rectify it as it is extremely frustrating staring a blank blue screen while waiting for a download to finish before I can watch TV.

This was fixed in the end by replacing the main Sky Q box

I assume the Ethernet switch is also connected to your Router?
Is anything else connected to it?

The ethernet switch is connected to the router, nothing else is connected to the ethernet switch

Did you disable the WiFi immediately after carrying out a Network reset.
When all boxes are connected by Ethernet you can then switch off all Q box WiFi.
Start with main Q box and first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router (or Sky router if on Sky Broadband). Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
As soon as it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.
Repeat the network reset on any minis in the Mini Home menu with the Ethernet connected. Again do not do any WPS and just wait for it to connect.
Once it is connected go into the mini hidden menu (same procedure as above) and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Wi-Fi was disabled immediately and the Sky Q mini box can connect to the Sky Q box via ethernet with no issue. The issue with connectivity dropping between the Sky Q boxes is still occurring when downloading

Hi
for over one year I had issues with mini boxes dropping , in the beginning not very often , at the end nothing worked.
A new SKY Q box fixed this, but I checked the power supply and there was over 19v of AC ripple on the DC voltages ( this should be very close to zero)
So if you are having dropouts order a new SKY Q box.
