So - I am doing as the voice on the phone suggested and trying this forum first.
Basically, on an almost daily basis, the main Sky Q box won't wake up from standby. I have to unplug from the mains and get it to completely restart to wake up. Whatever is wrong, it has meant that I have missed recordings - the error message will say power failure. I could almost live with this BUT when the main box is down, the upstairs box in the bedroom will also not function, requiring a trip downstairs to go through the process again. Once the box has restarted, all is fine - until the next time I try to wake it from standby.
Is there a software or hardware update I can apply?
Is this a known issue?
Is there a setting I can change to reduce this from happening?
I have only recently (two months ago) upgraded to Sky Q from Sky+ having been a customer for over 16 years, so I am really hoping to sort this to restore harmony at home.
Thanks all.

You could try changing the Standby mode to None

Thanks - I might try this, although the sheer amount of similar messages suggests that I am FAR from alone with my issues.

Thank you, although the Subject Box is showing an issue unrelated to mine.

My Sky Q stopped working yesterday. I cannot view recording, record anything and the Home Screen is plain blue. I’ve tried to update the software 15 times now and although it goes through the motions nothing actually updates or fixes the problem.
