Sky Q Dropping Wifi

I'm getting incredibly fed up of the amount of times that my Sky Q box drops the wifi connection. Other people seem to have the same problem and I've tried various troubleshooting solutions that I've seen on the forum, but nothing has worked.

I have BT fibre with a BT router. Every other device that's connected to it has never once lost connection with the router. I have lost count of the amount of times that my woeful Sky Q box has lost connection.

The only way I can resolve the problem is by unplugging the Sky box and going through the set up again. On average, this is probably once a week.

How do I resolve this? I'm starting to think I have a dodgy box.

Re: Sky Q Dropping Wifi

Update: this time round a restart hasn't worked so I can't actually connect my Sky Q box to my wifi.

Re: Sky Q Dropping Wifi

I'd suggest fully rebooting both the router and the Sky Q main box.

Unplug both of them, same time, from the wall for at least 30 seconds.

Plug back in the router only, get it up and running, and run a speed test on your mobile.

Now plug back in the Sky Q box, go to settings, and reset the network settings section. Then scan for your router, add in your password, and hopefully, you're back up and running.

Good luck.
