My main Sky Q box is very slow to change channels (20-30 seconds) and the mini box is the same and fails to find the channels at all at points, with the picture being a bit hit and miss.
I have reset both boxes and the router but no change.
I dont really know what else to try.

Hi @KevinEley
When you reset was this just a reboot?
If so
Try a Reset Settings in the main Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, however this is the reset I have tried.
Unfortunately it didnt have any impact.
I did read somewhere that resetting the hard drive may help, but I am not sure of the integrity of this.

If you can afford to lose your Recordings then it's worth trying @KevinEley

It is certainly better. Will see how it goes.

I had exactly the same issue and tried absolutely everything to resolve it, including changing both the main box and the mini - to no avail. In our setup, it was a non sky broadband provider and router and the main box and mini were both connected via WIFI on 2.4ghz. Everything was working until a few months ago then suddenly the mini was slow to change channels or delete any deleted recordings, I think perhaps a box software update had occured. Even switching the mini on was taking a long time. When experimenting, I noticed that if the 2.4ghz was disabled on the main router, the mini then worked as expected and changed channels fast again. You do need it enabled though for everything to work including streaming, so in the end the thing that worked for me was to re-enable the 2.4ghz connection, then change the security from WPA2 to WPA3/WPA2 on the main router for the 2.4ghz connection. You need to ensure that any changes are saved in the router interface. Once I did this, everything is back to normal and fast to change channels again. Hope this helps.
