Sky Q Booster not connecting on 2.4ghz

Hello all

 

i recently moved to a Virgin broadband with Sky Q and 2 mini boxes. Initially after the change in April I was having connection problems where the connection from Sky Q to my internet would drop out daily. I managed to fix this I think by changing my Sky to 2.4ghz only - I can't remember! 

Last week I had issues with Virgin and after they resolved the original issue has came back, I'm assuming because my internet connection settings had to be reset.

 

my issue now is that when I switch my Sky Q box to 2.4ghz, the Sky Q extender I have won't connect to the main Sky Q box and my mini boxes aren't working.

 

any help much appreciated

AFAIK, the Sky Q main box uses 2.4 gHz only  to communicate to your home wifi network. And it uses the 5 gHz band to communicate between all of the Sky boxes (mini & extender). So, by disabling 5 gHz on the main box you've effectively disabled communications with the mini and extender boxes. I'd suggest you re-enable the 5 gHz on your Sky Q main box and retry connecting the mini and extender.
