Sky Main Box 5pin Power Cable Extension

I'm moving my Sky Q Main Box but the orange headed power cable will be too short to reach the box. Is there an extension I can purchase to extend its reach?

Not possible I'm afraid. The transformer is located behind the wall mounted tv (as that is where the sockets are) and the power feed is fed behind the wall popping out from a cover at the foot of the wall. There is enough play in the hdmi cable but not enough in the power cable.

I know it may not be ideal but if you get a long Figure of 8 cable, then could you not feed this through the channel & keep the transformer next to the Q box..

hi @mugginsy

I am not aware of any extensions to the multipin side of the power adapter.

Is it possible to keep the adapter nearer to the box and just extend the power cable to the adatpter - you can get these standard iec7 figure of 8 leads in various lengths

Probably not: historically that's a rather peculiar proprietary connection to permit Powerline networking to function through the external transformer of a v2 main Q box.

Re: Sky Main Box 5pin Power Cable Extension

Thanks Niggea99,

I came to the same conclusion. Ordered a longer Fig 8 cable and will somehow try and hide, disguise the transformer so its less noticeable. Thanks for your advice.
