Set my Sky Q remote to control volume on my new Sony HT-A7000 soundbar but now when I press the home button on my Sky remote instead of taking me to the Sky home page it switches to the eARC HDMI 3 input that my soundbar is connected to. Not had this problem with any other soundbar I've used before. Any ideas how I can stop this while still using my Sky remote for the volume control?

Hi @KopPix
If it is only doing it since you set the remote to control the Soundbar I would reset the remote and just set it to control the TV volume. As the soundbar is connected to the TV by HDMI then provided HDMI CEC control is switched on in TV and Soundbar changing the TV volume will automatically control the Soundbar volume.
If you do this this make sure you completely reset the remote and not just re pair it.
ie
Try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the remote led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

Hi,
Should have mentioned I've already tried that. Reset the remote and just set it for TV control and skipped the sound system step......still the same result unfortunately of the home button taking me to the HDMI of my soundbar. Strange as I've had several other soundbars and not had this before I got a Sony one.

Did you completely reset the remote by pressing and holding 7 & 9 or did you just re-pair it to the TV?

Hi,
Yeah have tried both ghe remotes that came with ghe box (that I had swapped out about 18 months ago) and also the remote from the Sky mini box that I have in the other room. Same result with each remote.

Hi @KopPix
Try turning off HDMI control first in the Soundbar and see if it still happens. Then also in the Q box settings as well if no different with it Off on the Soundbar.

Hi,
Turning off the Soundbar HDMI control made no difference but turning off the Sky HDMI one meant that the home button worked correctly........however I'm back to having to use 3 different controllers again for Sky, TV and Soundbar 🙃

No idea what changed but for the last two days the problem has disappeared!
I haven't changed any further settings and not done any more resets but the Sky Q remote Home button is now working correctly and I'm able to change volume on the Soundbar with my Sky remote as well.
Fingers crossed it continues this way 🙃

.........and it didn't last. Reverted back to the original problem. I've noticed that the TV is resetting it's configuration settings for the HDMI ports randomly. I set up Sky, Soundbar and my Blu Ray player on the respective ports and they just switch back to generic labels when I look later.
Absolutely baffled as to what's going on.
