Re: Sky HDR
@GoldenPhoenix By chance I'm OK because my Sky Q box was only installed about 6 months ago. But I'd also feel aggrieved if I were you. This is not good from Sky even if it is only 20 hours. They should have contacted all those with the old boxes first and promised to sort it out

Re: Upgrade old Sky Q 2TB to new version for HDR
@63johnw early adopters of tech always pay the price of early adoption both in cost and features. The more patient ones get the best deal. There's a lesson there.

Re: Upgrade old Sky Q 2TB to new version for HDR
I agree to a pint @Piesarus when buying, but as we do not own the box it should be replaced by sky to give all customers who are paying the same monthly subscriptions (apart from haggled discounts) access to the same features.

Re: Upgrade old Sky Q 2TB to new version for HDR
With all the issues of HDMI handsaking with Samsung and Denon equiplement I'm happy enough to miss the HDR if I can hang on to my V1 box which I have never had an issue with.

- @63johnw the early boxes may well be replaced at some point. However, I can't see it happening until the nation is back to some form of normality.

SKYQ HDR How do I get a new 2TB Box
So with the delightful news today that Sky has finally rolled out HDR alongside the new Sky Nature channel, I eagerly tuned in to see how it had made the 4K UHD picture better....
But no, turns out, (due to me being an early adopter) my 2TB SkyQ box hardware is too old to work with the new HDR.
My hardware version is 32B063 and it turns out that I need version 32B1xx or 32B2xx in order to watch in HDR.
How on earth can I get a new box with the latest hardware..?
How long due to the current climate do you reckon it'll be before Sky are in the position to start sending out upgraded boxes..?
Oh well, standard 4KHD for me then for the foreseeable.. ☹️

Re: SKYQ HDR How do I get a new 2TB Box
I'm one of the early adopters for Sky Q with 2TB Box 32B061, how can I upgraded as well.

Re: Upgrade old Sky Q 2TB to new version for HDR
That's all I have said @Piesarus once things settle down I hope sky will swap them or I will be disappointed, not shouting or stamping my feet saying I want anything now. Sky should have released some sort of statement for those customers who are affected, even if just to say they understand what's going on and will swap the boxes when it's possible, not hard to do (a statement I mean) surely ?

Re: Upgrade old Sky Q 2TB to new version for HDR
@Piesarus , unfortunately it's not just early adopters. I only upgraded to Sky Q 2 months ago and I've been given a v1 box. They're not going to destroy all those old unused boxes, they're going to still give them out to customers until they run out of them.

Re: Sky HDR
As some of you have found out we've not been able to build the 2TBv1 upgrade journey. A few weeks ago we had a decision to make to either further delay or try and push ahead. We went with the latter on the basis that we've only released a very small library of content and our intention is to build the upgrade journey in the coming months as we increase the content.
There's little point to phoning us looking for an upgrade until the journey has been built and I know it's been mentioned in passing but we swap like for like boxes when doing service visits. At the moment it's a case of waiting it out as annoying as it is.
Thanks,
Kei

Re: SKYQ HDR How do I get a new 2TB Box
Me too with a 32B057, first day Sky Q came out I think? Sure Sky will have a plan as we dont own the hardware anyway. Otherwise it might just malfunction.....and get replaced.

Re: Sky HDR
@Kei+M ,
YOu say you had a decision to further delay or push ahead. Does this imply with a further delay, the 2TbV1 could have got it? Does that mean it could get it one day ? Otherwise, what do you mean by a "further delay"?
