Sky F1 no sound on channel 406.

I noticed this morning, 17th May 2025, that my recording of FP2 from 16th had no sound. I checked the live F1 channel - 406 and found that that has no sound. I checked the F3 race on the Sky Go app on my tablet and this has the usual commentary. Other Sky channels have audio - Sky News etc
I've restarted my SkyQ box in case there were some hangovers from the Sky Q issues a couple of days ago. Still the same issue.
Anyone else have problems?

Hi @dhorwell   I would check your audio output format on the box. If you get sound set to Normal then it is an issue with your TV or audio system.

Hi @MightyQuinn the rest of the system works fine. I can view/hear all the other channels available from my SkyQ box either on passthru or via my sound system. It is only channel 406 that has no sound.

They don't all use the same sound formats

have you tried forcing the output to "normal" as a diagnostic step?

Hi @dhorwell   So you are saying you get no sound when set to Normal? It has been known that people set their audio output to DD+ and their systems cannot decode it. All other channels will work okay because the programmes are only DD or PCM.

And what sound system is it? Most / all can decode DD at least, if not Atmos.

Marantz SR7011 - supports all the formats that SkyQ has. 4k passthru and any number of configurations inc ATMOS.
It's been the same setup forever as its not something that ever needs to be changed. I'm gonna check noone else has been changing stuff.
Odd how it's only 1 channel that has no sound.

Hi @dhorwell   Probably because it is the only channel with Atmos(DD+).

So, i return red faced. I switched the TV/amp on as normal, turned on SkyQ and Pinkie, Jamie and Bernie are all chatting away and i'm hearing the audio as normal.
No idea why this has happened as I rebooted everything once I first experienced the issue. Oh well....

Same for me....qualifying adverts pre programme started and okay re sound. As soon as actual programme started ( recorded) recorded, there's no sound. Yet ANOTHER  issue with Sky's F1 coverage 🙄

@NP17 not sure whats going on as I watched from a recording in UHD and checked the HD recording and sound was fine on both of them

Well as you can see above, that problem went away so not sure it is the same.

Trying to watch the recording of the race from my sky glass playlist. Exactly the same - audio stops after adverts when the program starts. Issue only with sky sports f1 recording. Watched the qualifying recording from main event which was fine. Getting fed up of these issues with f1 recordings.

Exactly the same problem here too.  Trying to watch the whole race this evening.  Sound fine for the ads at the start, but silence from then on.  Using sky stream.  Seems to be one problem after another with sky F1.  All other channels working fine.
