Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Well Panasonic came back to me yesterday. Stating there is nothing wrong with the TV but apparently my internet connection. They told me I needed a 2.1 HDMI, check my internet connection and download items and not watch live.

That made me lose it with them.

I told them this is a satellite connection. Not internet related. Explained again about the replacement panel mentioned in this thread.

So they asked for a video of the problem again. So I sent one with live viewing and one with a downloaded program.

I actually thought they were getting  somewhere but clearly not. I'm not letting this go!

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Recently purchased a Z95B and can confirm i get the black screen dropouts, on my third sky q box all version 2 and all haven't fixed the issue

I have requested a version 3 box to see if this resolves the issue, will report back

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

My work around is to change the resolution on the sky q box to 2160 8 bit, this disables hlg and the tv works fine

I watched the Wimbledon final on I player in hlg and that worked

Netflix on an apple tv box in dolby vision works,I will test hlg on i player on the apple tv box to see if that works, if it does, the tv is working fine and therefore,I can only assume it's got to be the sky q version 2 box,as mentioned I've requested a 1tb version 3 box to see if that resolves the issue, previous boxes were 2tb version 2

Sorry to hear you are having the same problem as us owners of the ZxxA series of TV's. Please contact Panasonic and tell them you're having this issue. As you can see from the posts in this discussion, the problem only started after a firmware update earlier this year, (before your Z95B became available though, however the two series of TV's do use the same firmware). The more people that report the problem the better.

Please let us know how you get on with a Version 3 Q box. Although as I have mentioned before my V2 Q box works perfectly on my sons Samsung TV and on my Panasonic GZ950B, it only has this issue on my Z95A. So frustrating.

Yes please report to Panasonic. We shouldn't be doing work arounds or compromises for a £1k+ TV in 2025.

Turning the Sky box to 8 bit takes away the HDR which looks stunning when working right.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Hi guys

Update on my picture dropouts on my z95b

Had a version 3,1tb box installed yesterday by a sky engineer after trying 3 version 2 boxes

After testing the box last night on Sky Sports UHD and downloaded content from on demand both in hdr/hlg, i can confirm i have no picture or sound dropouts, so it looks like the version 2 box was the culprit and not the tv in my case

I have read on av forums that the v2 may have hdmi handshaking issues, especially with av receivers

Do all the members on this thread who have issues, use a version 2 box?,if so my advice would be to contact sky and request a version 3 box

I had to settle for 1tb box as I believe the 2tb boxes are hard to come by,when I requested a 2tb version 3,I was sent a version 2

So in conclusion, the version 3 box has resolved my picture dropouts on hdr/hlg,and the tv is working fine

Hope this helps all the members on this thread and hopefully my experience will resolve your issues

Did you revert back to 10bit 4K?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

Assume so if he says it's fine in HLG?

I think this is what we suspected, as all the posts on this thread are from users with version 2 boxes and I have tried a 4K Roku stick that outputs HLG/HDR, and that also worked perfectly.

However the fact remains that my version 2 box works perfectly on my 6 year old Panasonic GZ950 in HLG/HDR and on a brand new Samsung TV, and used to work perfectly on my Z95A before the Jan/Feb firmware update.

In addition the lack of posts from users with other brands of TV's reporting this problem definitely points to an issue with the TV.

I do take your point though and switching to a version 3 box, if I can get hold of one, might be the easiest solution in the short term.

Just out of interest is the Version 3 Q box totally black in colour, i.e. without the silver lip on the lower front edge? Might make identifying V3 boxes easier if an engineer turns up with one, thanks in advance.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Version 3 has no silver trim and no separate power supply

You can also check in system info in the settings for hardware Version 3 is 32B2xxx

Well yes this is the bit that I'm torn over now. Do I request a v3 box and hope for the best. Or wait and just keep doing what I'm doing and keep pushing Panasonic?
