Sky engineer arrived today. He didn't have any V3 2TB boxes on his van. He said they are like gold dust. He tried a different V2 without success.
He had a 1TB UHD box which as we know is a V3. I told him I was happy to have this.
He plugged it in and the problem is resolved!
So if you're happy to have 1TB to resolve the issue that's the way forward. Engineer had plenty of them and said they're about. The 2TB are not.
Going to have to do this myself!
Yeah I tried to tell them on the phone. They said it will likely be a 2TB. As it's a like for like.
It's all black so it does look better. Also found the HDMI control works properly again too.
The engineer was on the phone to tech and they had a Samsung which did the same. No idea what model tv.
Seems 1TB UHD are around quite a bit So you can swap if you want.

@Arek3 wrote:How can you recognize 1TB UHD box? Does it look the same from the outside?
Check the Music section to confirm your box type:
- Press Home on your Sky Q remote.
- Scroll to Audio and music then select Your devices.
- Select Play your music using Airplay. You’ll see your box type listed (e.g. Sky Q 2TB Box2725).

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter
I've had my version 3 box for a week now, with no dropouts, so it definitely looks like the version 2 box is the culprit as other guys on here have switched and it has resolved the issue
Happy UHD viewing 👍😁

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter
Sky enginners have just been and replaced my box to version 3.
For some reason my visit was marked as 'specalist' which meant 2 engineers arrived (in 2 separate vans).
This meant they had more boxes available between them but they did not have any 2TB in version 3. They only had few 1TB in version 3 which I was happy to get.
I have now version 32B 206, it is 1TB. The box is just black with no silver lip.
The engineers mentioned that these 2TB boxes seem to have many issues and also that additional power adapter is causing some interference? That power adapter did not cause any issues for me.
BTW, the enginners are not sent the details on what is wrong (when I called I explained what was exactly needed in terms of boxes change). The enginners are only sent - issue with connectivity - so if you get a visit you may be unlucky on what is on their van.
The engineers also did not know how to tell theb box version apart. Thanks to this forum I was able to explain these 32 numbrs and the engineer was also greatful for additional explanation.
Anyway, I hope this is it for now and I am sorted.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter
Interesting to read you guys are having engineer visits!
I spoke with Sky yesterday and they're doing a doorstep exchange of my current Q box via courier, to hopefully resolve the issue.
They advised it would be a version 3 box and a like for like 2TB.
Let's see what arrives.. will keep you posted!

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter
as far as I know sky has now way of saying what box they dispatch. It is just random
over a month ago I went through the same process. I was supposed to get version 3 box but when the courier arrived, I got exactly the same box in version 2. As thisnis courier drop and swap you don't get much time
to check what you get

Whoever puts the boxes in the DPD van seem to have no idea what they're sending. You might get lucky though.
If it's got a power brick, it's a V2.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter
I spoke to them on Friday and they said the automated dispatch system has no knowledge of which box it is sending. They said an engineer would have to come so booked in for Aug 13th.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter
Interesting ! The chap was very helpful, spoke about production date of the boxes etc and the follow up email also states a 2TB box.
Will wait to see!

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter
As far as we know from this forum, 2TB box can be in version 2 and version 3.
Unless they can confirm version number of the box, this may be still a lottery.

That's right. 2TB is V2 or V3. The V3 2TB box is like hens teeth. My engineer said he hasn't seen one for over a year.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter
I had a visit from an extremely helpful Sky engineer this morning, who hadn't seen or heard of this fault before, but because of the work done diagnosing the problem on this discussion thread, swaped out my V2 box for a 32B206 1TB version 3 box and everything seems to be working properly again. Thank You Sky.
I still have an open case with Panasonic UK which I think I am just going to close.
