Sky Cinema.

Hello all.

I would like to report some films that are being branded as Sky Cinema films that are either branded incorrectly or are branded correctly and are not letting people watch them.

The following films all tell me that they are a part of the Sky Cinema package when I look at them in the Sky Cinema on demand section. They all have the Sky Cinema logo above the name of the film in the Sky cinema section.

The warrior queen of jhansi

Fall of kingdom

Reminiscence
Along came a spider
A knights tale
Mortal combat

All of them have the Sky cinema logo above the name of the film. When I click on them to watch them however I am not given the option to watch them even though I have a Sky Cinema subscription. I am instead taken to the Sky store where I am given the opportunity to rent them or to buy them.

There is no watch button at all.

The vast majority of films appear to be functioning correctly just not these as far as I can tell.

It makes me wonder if they have been wrongly labelled as Sky Cinema films or if they are a part of Sky Cinema then they are wrongly labelled as Sky Store when in the Sky Cinema on demand section.

To go along with that I have also come across a couple of other errors.

The following two films tell me that there are no programs of this type available every time.

Season of the witch
Nobody

I know there is nothing wrong with my own internet as I am able to download other films just fine and can also download games from Steam without an issue. I am currently downloading Dune 2021 without issue so clearly my box appears to be working correctly.

I think someone from Sky needs to check out these films to see what is happening as clearly it is not good to have films that are branded as being a part of Sky Cinema if they are not a part of Sky Cinema or if should be a part of Sky Cinema then Sky Cinema customers should not be directed to the Sky store to pay for films which are a part of Sky Cinema.

hi @Bifta

Rights for use as part of the SKY Subscription do come & go and it might be that they have recently expired

Is it possible that you are getting an out of date page showing for SKY Cinema

Can you give us the route to the page you see them with the SKY Cinema logo ?

(e.g. Home -  SKY Cinema - Featured etc)

Re: Sky Cinema.

The Route I take is more than one as there are so many films.

The First route I took was to go to Home then Sky Cinema then featured and scrolled down to Epic Historical Action. I then scrolled across to the around 3 films in this section. I think they were A knights tale,  Fall of Kingdom and Warrior Queen of Jhansi.

For the others I would have gone via a similar route. Home then Sky Cinema and then Featured and would then have scrolled down to the part where it gives you each channel, So Sky Cinema action, Sky Cinema thriller etc etc.

I am not sure it is a loss of rights that is the issue. The reason for that is because a couple of them are new films that have not been released for long so it makes me think that they have been misclassified.

hi @Bifta

I have found one of them  : A Knight's tale

Home - SKY Cinema - Featured - Epic historical action rail

You are right they should not appear on rails within the SKY Cinema Section when rights have expired or not yet in place

@Kirsty+S27 please can you refer this and any that @Bifta gives the location to the relevant teams please

yes it is possible that the rails have been updated prior to release - again this should not happen but we see similar updates with UHD versions that sometimes have not yet made it to the servers

Please can you give a couple of specific examples - even if you can;t for all - so that @Kirsty+S27 , that I have tagged can refer to the relevant teams

Re: Sky Cinema.

For a Knights Tale Fall of Kingdom and Warrior Queen of Jhansi I went the following route.

Home then Sky Cinema then featured and scrolled down to Epic Historical Action. A knights tale is near the start of this section and the other two are right at the end so I scrolled across to the last two in this section.

I will now try and retrace my steps to the others but it might take me some time to do so. So please bear with me.

Re: Sky Cinema.

For Reminiscence I went

Home Sky Cinema Featured and then scrolled down to A world of Crime and then scrolled across.

Along Came a Spider was in the same section just a little further along.

At this stage I have not been able to retrace my steps to Mortal Combat.

Re: Sky Cinema.

Sorry, for the life of me I can't find my way back to Mortal Kombat despite spending nearly an hour looking.

Thank you for trying.

Hopefully they will update the rails to reflect the current availability but I must mention that it doesn't always happen as quick as we might like.

Your best bet to get this checked and resolved by Sky is to send an email to the Sky Viewer relations team to report it.

I can only find that in the Sky Store (using the manual search function)

I am just another Sky customer!
