SKY Q no signal after engineer visit upgrading to broadband

Today a open reach engineer upgraded our broadband to fibre, not long after he left we are now not able to watch live tv on our Sky Q only catch up. No one can come out now until September 11th and we have just gone back with them for Sky Sports after 10 years.. This is unacceptable. Anyone else had a problem like this?

@LesleyFC4 Have you tried rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

As live TV is delivered by satellite dish this seems a complete coincidence...

Not sure what part is 'unacceptable' but a 10 day wait is actually not bad.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Re: SKY Q no signal after engineer visit upgrading to broadband

We are having exactly the same issue. Open Reach Engineer came out on 20th, replaced broadband, left without saying he'd finished and then when we checked had no satellite signal. Went through all troubleshooting steps and told to book an engineer, none available until 4th September. Booked slot 8-1. Waited all day and engineer finally arrived after 3pm (she had called at 2 to say she'd be late) and she eventually identified that the Open Reach Engineer had actually drilled through the existing satellite cable when installing the new fibre line so said that was likely the cause. She replaced the cable, checked our main skyQ box and mini boxes to make sure resolved and they all seemed fine, live TV was working again. She left about a hour ago. 15 minutes after she left, no signal again. Gone through all troubleshooting steps for the 5th time and no resolution, she's not answering our calls so gone online to book an engineer and next available is 15th September. Can't even speak to anyone to try and resolve. So very frustrating... we've been sky customers for 20 years and pay an absolute fortune. We only had the broadband upgrade owing to terrible WiFi for the last few years (had to switch to fibre as never got anywhere near the advertised speeds and next to no signal strength). Don't know why we bother. I feel your pain... unfortunately no closer to a solution than you seem to be!

Oh my thats awful. Yes I've been a customer for 25 years (not sure why ive stayed there are cheaper options 🤣) Our engineer is on the 11th and just praying its all fine. Ive literally just gone back to Sky Sports after 10 years and obviously am unable to watch 🤣 Have to laugh or ill cry. I wont even go there with the problems I had with Sky Talk and trying to get a refund on what I been paying for and not had. Hey Ho let's see what happens on the 11th.

Yes that did not, work, weve been through everything we can find on line.  Absolutely fine until a engineer came, this cannot be a coincidence 🤣🤣🤣🙄🙄🙄🙄

Well unless your engineer also manages to drill through a sat cable, which I guess is mathematically possible but seems like a hell of a coincidence, broadband and satellite signal have literallly nothing to do with each other.
