SKY Q box without internet

Hello,

My SKY Q box will not connect to neither my WiFi network nor through my ethernet cable so is without Internet and not showing content.

Hi @Janhoi 

Have you carried out a Network reset on the Q box or can you not get into it at all?

Hello,

Yes did a network reset but apparently SKY Q box needed to be plugged out and back in so it can detect the IP address of new equipment from Internet provider I recently switched to.

I rang SKY and a Rep talked me through the process so now resolved.

That sounds bogus. The network reset would also have to re-initialise the IP stack at which point it would request an address (for itself, and also get told the address of the router it should use) from the router via DHCP. It's not a hardware level thing needing a reboot. Or if it does, that's really  bizarre network software on the Q. Glad you got it resolved though.
