SKY Q box return - not cancelling Sky Q

Hi,

Bought a SKY Q box in error and need to return it (and get the money back).

It's still in the box - never opened.

Anyone know the easy steps rather than a robot telling me I'm cancelling the whole of my Sky package (I'm not).

Thanks for any help.

@WMH1

You can't buy Sky Q boxes. They are loaned to you so you won't get money back. What have you cancelled to prompt this?

Re: SKY Q box return - not cancelling Sky Q

Long story - I have Sky Q on 4 tellies (you can only watch 3 at once). I didn't know so thought I was upgrading to watch on 4th - but they sent (loaned) me another box I now know I don't need. So I want to send it back and get my £50 back (they've taken that as deposit) for a box I'm never gonna use. 🙂

hi @WMH1

Is this an additional mini box to add to one(s) you already have ?

SKY's systems are not geared to returning just one mini box - cancellation of the multiscreen subscription triggers the return of all mini boxes

Returning just one box is likely to get their system in a mess and possibly not recognise it as retuned

The 'bot' probably does not recognise what you are asking as it is an exception

As @Daniel0210 says you don't buy the boxes but pay an admin fee - which is not normally refundable but I guess SKy may make an exception if there is proof it was never used - although the admin fee is for set up and cariage.

I am afraid I am not that familiar with the best methods of getting through to speak to an adviser - possibly remaining silent at prompts may work

You'll need to call Sky to discuss returning the mini box. They'll send return packaging and labels. Keep your proof of posting safe and indefinitely.

Frustrating thing is - within 15mins I realised that I didn't need another box - phoned an advisor and asked them to cancel - which they said they did, and a day later the box turned up and they've charged me. Doh!

I see our posts crossed

It is very unfortunate that SKY do not make the limits of using mini boxes clearer up front.

Some customers do get extra boxes just to place in other rooms allowing them to move about without exceeding the Main + 2 minis in use .

You'd think someone from Sky admin would read these posts and chip in with the answer. (Or is that Big Brother watching?) 🙂

There are just way too many threads for that

We can escalate things where it will help but this sounds like it needs a call anyway.
