Engineer upgraded me to SKY Q box 5 days ago, asked if I had a mini Q box said don't know anything about them, as I was happy with my little Box in bedroom from Talk Talk which is okay but some distance fromTT routerand works fine, as I have health issues and spend quite a bit of time in bedroom now.
He ordered one for me came 2 days ago, so dismantled Talk Talk box and installed Sky Mini Box (followed instructions from book and it started to work well,)
In settings on remote, 4 boxes ticked and on my Mini Box the 2 settings are ticked.
But now it has started to go off and come up with "ERROR MR 204."
I can unplug Mini from mains, start up from scratch and Mini box starts up but then goes off.
It has no pattern, tried a few times choosing this method sometimes works for 10 mins, 30 mins but yesterday afternoon 3 and a half hours before it went off.
This morning at 11-30 I got it going again, went off after 10 mins, went to get a shower, after 10 mins started up by itself, just checked now after 50 mins and just gone off whilst I was there watching it.
A 71 year old pensioner is now at his wits end - could it have anything to do with being too far away from main Sky Q box as mini box is upstairs and at other side of house (but I did not have a problem at any time when I had my Talk Talk box working in my bedroom.same place)
Do I need an engineer to investigate as not too Tech minded, as he said you won't have any problems for the distance for where you are putting it.

It does sound like a connectivity issue from an weak wifi signal. This is unusual as the Sky engineer should ensure that every box has good wifi reception.
Have you put any thing near the main box or the mini box, since the install, that could interfere with the wifi?
You could go back to your TT setup and ditch the mini box or ask sky to install a booster inbetween the Main Q box and the mini box.
