Rubbish tv guide.

I have recorded the itv soaps on virgin 1 for years now and I can't remember when it changed but when they are on for an hour it used to record for an hour now they record for half an hour and sometimes you only get half the program as the other half didn't record or like last Wednesday night a totally different program recorded as Coronation Street was on Tuesday and not Wednesday. Last night I discovered purely by accident that a programme I'd been waiting for was on virgin 1, I Fought the Law was on at 9pm, by accident because the sky guide had Station 19 at 9 pm, a totally different program and one I don't watch. The only reason I knew was because I saw an ad that I could easily have missed as I were possible fast forward through the ads. The sky guide used to be reliable, now it isn't.

It's only as good as the metadata that the channel broadcaster gives to Sky.

Whatever about the soaps, Station 19, to the best of my knowledge, has never been on virgin 1.

@John228 The data in the TV Guide for Virgin 1 is provided by Virgin.

It's extremely unlikely the box recorded a show from a different channel.

 

Just use ITVX if it misses part of one. I know you then get some ads but ITV got to eat too. Hey, maybe that's why they let the metadata intern go home early some days.

The box didn't record a show from a different channel, it was the right channel, wrong name on the program or wrong program.

I haven't called yet, it annoys me the length of time it takes to get through to someone. You get an annoying machine asking you stupid questions, it takes hours.

I went through the arduous process of contacting someone at sky through texting, after doing what I was told to do, I now can't pause or rewind sky sports news. I wish I hadn't bothered, Sky doesn't seem to care about their customers.

Texting? You were pointed at an email address, no?. They shouldn't have had you change anything at all, they should, for this issue, just look into the issues with the guide metadata.

 

Can't think of anything they can have you do which would cause the new problem you are describing.

I know, I didn't get much help at all. The issue with Sky Sports News came right tonight. They said they would be back in touch in the morning, I didn't expect them to have me update the software and I can't see how that was supposed to fix the issue I was complaining about. Just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.
