Sky should send you returns packaging with freepost returns labels. It may take a few weeks to arrive.

Re: Returning sky Q boxes
Sky typically won't send packaging until the cooling off period for Stream has elapsed.
It's also possible they won't ask for the Q hardware back at all: they've got millions of main and Mini boxes out on loan, and demand has been decreasing ever since Glass and Stream were released.

Also they can charge you a ridiculous price if you do not return the equipment, this happened to me about 15 years ago.
Another thing I was never happy about was when the Sky engineer installed my Sky Q box he took my old box away, I told him I owned the box but he still insisted he took it, I wanted to keep it, I have never been happy with renting TV equipment and I never do, the renting and not owning the equipment from Sky if one of the main reasons I have closed my account and left Sky after 25 years.

Sky Q was introduced in the UK in February 2016 so it wouldn't have been Sky Q you were charged for not returning about 15 years ago.

If it's not returned when Sky asks for it. That appears to now apply to Max Hubs, Broadband Hubs and most Stream pucks, but not Q television boxes or Q Hubs. Customer experience seems to vary though.

They shouldn't have done that with a Sky+ or Sky+ HD box, but similar posts suggest this has happened to others too.

It's all in the contract you read and agreed...
