Return sky equipment

Hi I ended my contract 20th May & just received text saying to return sky equipment but when I discussed leaving with a Sky agent I was told it did not need to be returned as we had it for some time now (been with Sky 13 years) I also pay a month in advance so may even need a refund?  We have recycled the equipment as told it was ok to not return it

@Carole.Bis

All Q television boxes (and almost all Q Hubs) are loaned equipment and must be returned to Sky if subscription ceases, as are Q wireless boosters if issued to solve Q television problems.

Sky+ / Sky+ HD boxes are the property of the user and return of those is not required.

@Carole.Bis  As @TimmyBGood  has advised if you had any sky q equipment as part of your contract this was on loan to you and must be returned on cancellation of any sky q subscription,failure to do this will result in a non returned equipment fee,if on the other hand you had any sky hd equipment this belonged to you and you could recycle as you wish.If you were told by any sky employee that any q equipment belonged to you to do as you wish I'm afraid you have been misinformed
