My dog has chewed my old sky q remote so cannot use it to disconnect to pair new remote?
Everything I've read online seems ti say only way to disconnect is by using old one but thats impossible for me.

Hi @FGunn
You do not need to unpair the old remote.
Just pairing the new one will override the old
Make sure that you are pointing your new remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

May I suggest you try a reset of your remote:and then retry the pairing
Press & Hold the 7 & 9 until the remote's light (red LED above the SKY logo button) flashes 4 times
Then, as mentioned , press 1 & 3 together to go through to re-pair with the box and your TV - make sure it has line of sight of the box as until it is paired it uses Infrared
