Remove Paramount and Sky link

With the changes to Paramount  on Sky to include ads now, is there any way I can get the link between Sky and Paramount removed so I can pay for a higher subscription plan?

I contacted the Sky help desk, and they said they cannot see how this can be done and I should create a new email address to use with Paramount, which is not ideal. There is also no option to pay via sky to get the premium Paramount service, like they provide with Netflix.

Why is it SO easy to add services, but you need to break your back to remove any services? 😠

Anyone with a similar issue that has found a solution?

Re: Remove Paramount and Sky link

The only possible solution I have found so far is if you cancel Sky Cinema so that you no longer have access to the new rubbish basic Paramount plus, you can then login to Paramount and pay a subscription.

i was told that would allow me to keep my viewing data, but I'm not sure I trust anything anyone is saying at Sky or Paramount at the moment.

Of course that doesn't help if you want to keep Sky Cinema.

Re: Remove Paramount and Sky link

Unfortunately I cannot cancel as I have over a year left on the Cinema portion, but Sky really need to allow users to remove the link between the 2 systems and make it EASIER for users to remove services.

The workaround I have used is to use the gmail.com alias feature, so Paramount sees me as a new user and then I still get the emails in my normal email account.

Re: Remove Paramount and Sky link

I had the same problem to day and annoyingly had to cancel cinema. So Sky have lost a customer due to thier in ability to deal with this. I was fortunate to be near the end of my contract so a very patron agent said he was doing me a favour by not charging me the 31 day cancellation fee. Like I was losing Sky cinema and had spent 2.5 hours on the phone trying to sort it and getting shoved from pillar to post, very bad service from Sky

I don't have Sky Cinema but I do have a free 12 month subscription for ParamountPlus via Sky VIP it also gives me the option to upgrade to the next tier Paramountplus Premium for the yearly price of £97.99 or £10.00 a month.

If I subscribe to Sky Cinema I'll get ParamountPlus with ads

Sky Cinema is £10.00 a month for a 24 month contract

The question is do you want ads at £10.00 a month with Sky Cinema or ad free at £10.00 a month UHD/HDR Dolby Atmos via Paramountplus.com

Sky aren't forcing you to watch Paramount Plus with ads seen as it's included with Sky Cinema just cancel ParamountPlus and choose the adfree version simple peoples

Re: Remove Paramount and Sky link

If you're still in contract with Sky Cinema, they'll want to charge you. I only have a few months left so have been offered to leave early without additional charges.

If you buy a new subscription to Paramount, you loose viewing history and then have to convince apps of new login details- it's just hassle and admin we shouldn't have to do.

The point is they downgraded the service without actually notifying anyone and have ownership of our current Paramount plus account name. There's no option to pay an extra £3 and get the same service back or an extra £6 for the UHD service. Apparently that might happen at a later date.

Like many others, I only have Sky Cinema because it gave me paramount plus. It was actually cheaper because we had a sales offer from an engineer visiting, then as that ran out I saw Sky Cinema for £8 so I went with that.

It really is very unfair to change this mid-contract and to not have any way to fix it. They should have waited to be able to offer the non-ad versions.

I'd be interested to know if the UHD version is worth the extra. It feels like a lot extra when I believe there's not that much UHD content.

Nevertheless, the contract you agreed allows for it.  BUT a poster the other day did manage to cancel Cinema without early termination charges - but you'll have to argue your case with Sky...

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

I personally don't think Paramount+ is worth paying for, especially not the Premium subscription. Their catalogue is very limited compared to most of the other streamers and you can very quickly run out of things to watch, especially in UHD.

I've only ever signed up to free trials in order to watch specific series then cancel before any payment is needed. There are always usually 7 day or 1 month trial codes floating around if you search on various forums.

I'm coming to the end of a free month of Premium just in time for the end of The Agency which has looked very good in UHD with Dolby Vision, but apart from that, A Gentleman In Moscow and Fellow Travelers, there's precious little else of note on Paramount+, but it depends on what you're into of course.

Re: Remove Paramount and Sky link

My main issue with Sky and Paramount+ is that I used to download Paramount films/programmes on my phone to watch. This you now cannot do with the free Paramount+.

I had literally just downloaded some things earlier that day, then suddenly it changed with no warning.

Didn't even realise that things were changing.

Re: Remove Paramount and Sky link

Exactly my issue and I wanted both and had to compromise but ground I can get sky cinema on Now TV so it all worked out ok but not how I would chose to do it
