Recordings do not replay

Some recordings made on my Sky Q box will not replay. Message says I need to upgrade to watch.

Are you recording from an HD channel without having the HD add-on?

Or have you dropped the UHD or HD add-on from the subscription?  That causes existing Recordings in the definition(s) which are no longer covered to become unplayable: a Sky box cannot re-render stored content.

I do have HD and many of these channels record and playback ok.
