FYI all 

When the issues where on ultra hd Premier league by pressing select (earlier in the thread) sky compensated me circa £20 at least ask for something like that in the meanwhile. I'm sure SS ME UHD will get fixed but may aswell get some compensation in the mean time

Response from Sky - they obviously don't look at their own forum....

Looks like Skysports uhd 401 lip sync has been fixed. Just watching the darts. Was good on the cricket as well.

My lip synch is correct, but now the sound seems to cut out for a second or two every couple of minutes, anyone else having this? Again, only on this channel

Yes, T20 WC yesterday on ME - had constant sound drop outs, was almost unwatchable at times. Watched SSF1 in HDR and no issues at all.

Now got sound behind the picture again on Sky main event UHD watching the Grand Prix, interviews with drivers.  This is so poor from Sky

Absolutely terrible audio out of sync throughout the entire British GP weekend. Initially thought my TV is the problem, gave it hard reboot and it was the same. Audio out of sync or constantly hearing a short pause.

Not having lip-sync issues as such, but, the audio on Main Event keeps glitching every ten to twenty seconds and then dropping out for less than a second. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I believe that Main Event UHD is on the same multiplexed stream as TNT Sports Ultimate (the only other stream on that frequency) which we don't have so I can't check the quality of that stream on the same transponder. The audio is fine on the respective Sports Channel (Cricket, F1 etc). 
I don't know how often they drop in a I-frame, but, I'm expecting it to be 1 sec which might explain why the break when it happens is less than a second. 
The sound is often about 1/2 sec in advance of the video stream but for most output that doesn't make too much of a problem. I have no idea how Sky generate the Main Event stream - could be a straight switched DA of the original channel, but I suspect they use a DA to split of the output of the main channel and then re-mux it which is potentially where all these issues start. A straight encoding problem.

Is it a problem? - Not for me as I will always go to the source channel, but explaining to others at home what's happening and how to fix it is a pain. It's effectively making Main Event useless. It is a waste of a very expensive channel when it is unwatchable.
