TV works fine when not using sky and our other televisions work fine with sky Q.

May I suggest you do power down restart of your SKY Q box :
Use the remote to place it into standby mode
Then remove the power to it (either switch off at mains or remove the power plug)
Wait at least 30s
Then re-apply the power & wait for it to fully restart - this may take a few minutes.
Also, if possible, try a different HDMI Cable or, at least, take out the HDMI Cable and re-seat in both the the SKY Q box & TV

Strangely I powered down and changed the hdmi lead and we go a purple picture.
Did it all again the next day and this time the picture is back to normal.
