I received a new Sky 2T Q box today but there was no power cable supplied with it. The rear port for the power cable is circular with 6 very small holes within. Around the circumference was an orange circle. It appears that a Sky Q Box 2TB SP171 / SP170 Power Adapter Supply 12.25V 3.7A 5 Pin is required. Is this normal?

Thanks @MightyQuinn . This is exactly what Sky are doing (sending me a new 2T box with power cable). The downside is that we'll have no Sky sports over the weekend unless it's delivered on a Bank Holiday!

Hi @Tim140 You could always use the SKY Go App on a laptop, or games consol through a HDMI lead to a TV, to watch your SKY TV subscription content?

Was this a replacement box?
I have the same issue...

Hi, I received my 2TB box today and noticed the different power connection. The leaflet that comes in the box doesn't show this. There are actually 2 power cables in the box which is not immediately clear.
The original one is at the top of the box and the circular cable is on the left side of the box. The circular cable is like an adapter which first goes into the 2TB box and the normal cable then goes into the adapter. Don't know why Sky have done it like this.
I hope this helps.

IEC C7 power leads ('figure 8') are widely available online in different lengths and colours.
The external transformer for the v2 2TB main Q box should be supplied by Sky but is sometimes overlooked in the packaging during a rushed doorstep courier swap.: there are a few on eBay too (part number SP170/SP171) but you shouldn't be expected to buy one.
