Why is the picture on sky sports HD (sky Q ) so poor on the football channels, it's far to bright/ shine. It's only since football has returned all other channels seem fine.
the definition is shocking and horrible to watch.
are others seeing this?

Are you getting the same?

I complained through the SkyHelp Team via Twitter along with lots of others, they are looking into the problem, seems to be sorted now. 👍👍

Yep sorry, one of the mixers was using the wrong settings for the first half which resulted in the luminance being far too high.
Thanks,

Watched the Norwich Liverpool game and was convinced I was watching SD for all the pitch shots, some of the close ups were ok.
Now watching Spurs vs City online it is the same, watched Newcastle and WHam on the TV and was not impressed. Sort it out please Sky , there is no point in us buying expensive TV's and HD content to watch a blurry game !

By way of contrast , despite the poor light at Lords the Cricket looks absolutely fine !

I agree with you .Picture quality decidedly iffy this week-end. The Brentford/Arsenal picture quality was dire . Kei's answer may explain this but I'm not entirely convinced.
On HD you can normally read the shirt numbers quite easily but not this week-end. Difficult to read shirt numbers on field shots but OK on close-up.
UHD picture not much better either as shirt numbers still unclear.

Tried to watch some more games this weekend again.
Had to check I was not accidently on SD. The picture quality on pitch shots (majority of the program) is shocking. Yesterday the ref for the Chelsea game wearing a lemon shirt was a blur. Just a blurry light in the middle of the pitch. All the crowd were a blur the ball was a blur and every player the camera tracked whilst moving. How can this suddenly be so bad this season?

Something wrong with your setup as my picture was as sharp as a knife. Have a look below

My Sky Sports picture is not very good, definition is not as crisp as it should be and the ball judders often escpecially when moving. SKY Q has been a let down since I got it.

Had sky Q fitted today & all I can say is what has happened to sky sports,my old sky HD box the picture was so much better ,the picture was razor sharp & sky Q looks like SD.
I have an LG Oled tv & the picture was great.
just watched the La Liga football & the picture was pin sharp just watched Atenborogh on BBC 1 & it was like watching 3D so what is wrong with sky sports

I'm now getting very poor picure quality in the last couple of days especially now watching Super Sunday. It comes in and out of SD and HD. I also cannot access the Sky Sports UHD channel. The message comes up as "there is a technical issue, please try again later". Also on another matter, my Sky Broadband connection has really slowed down.
Is there a problem with the Sky services as the app indicates there is none?
Thanks......

Watched the re-run of MOTD on-line this morning , picture quality for all games fine , except the Brighton /City game that was covered by sky. All the long range pitch shots are ,like watching standard def.
Now I am trying to watch (online again) the West Ham /Tottenham game. I know its not a slow connection etc, as the studio shots are fine , the close up pitch shots are fine. But the pitch wide action shots are appalling. Sky are clearly using a different camera/technology for these shots. Its like watching cartoons. There is no definition, no detail. I have just about had enough of this seasons poor quality. After many years of watching sky for the football its now become unwatchable. I cannot imagine BT sport has the same problems....
