Picture Quality breaking up

Hi.  Thanks in advance for your help.

 

I  have a Sky Q box which has suddenly started to suffer from  break up of the pictire. Ih appens on all 'live' TV channels and all recordings (although they have been watched previoulsy with no issues)  I have the same problem with On deamnd programmes and Apps such as Neftlix and Amazon Prime..

 

The picture break up lasts 2-3 seconds at a time (see belpw), then clears to a regular picture for roughy the same preiod, before reverting back to the problem.

 

I've replaced the HDMI lead in the hope this would solve the problem, but with no luck

 

I have a Sky Engineer booked for a home visit, but the earlist available is in 10 days time (not ideal!)

 

As a technophobe, I'd appreciet any help anyone can give.

The key information is that it's happening from previously good recordings and apps, because that would tend to indicate it's not a dish issue (which would only affect live broadcast content)

 

Personally I'd suggest calling back and arranging a box swap-out.

Has the box been powered cycled?

Thanks for the swift reply - appreciate it.  Don't suppose you have the best number to call do you, or can this be done online - the Sky site is like a maze trying to find someoine to speak to!

Hi - yeah just unplugged it and leff it for five minutes. I the had a blank, black screen with  "Check Import Source and Device Power" meassge, but this is also flickering and rolling like the picture did..

 

Plugged everything back in on Q box and the Sound Box and unfortuntely still have the same porblem

@DANNYB64  You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

If you do end up getting the box via a 'doorstep box swap' whereby DPD deliver a new box and take your faulty box away remember to remove the viewing card from the faulty box before DPD put it in their van.
