Picture Issues after buying new TV

Hello, I bought a new TV and the picture quality is terrible now.  The picture isn't sharp and sometimes blurry.  Do I need a new Sky Box?

No, you will almost certainly need to adjust the picture settings within your TV setting menu.

Re: Picture Issues after buying new TV

Many thanks but I have tried the settings.  Live TV is clear but when I use Sky then it's blurry.  don't know what I can do as Sky will not pick up phone or reply to my messages.

Not sure what you expect Sky to do, as the problem seems to be associated with your replacement tv.  If it was working ok with the old tv, everything suggests it is something to do with the new tv's settings.  Sky do not provide tv specific support.

Re: Picture Issues after buying new TV

Hi, I know that. Sounds like you work for Sky! It is fine when watching live tv but when I watch through Sky it's blurry so it may be the box.
what do I expect Sky to do? Maybe pick up the phone or answer emails occasionally??

Hi @Kate8   Did it work okay with the old TV? If yes, then it your new TV, nothing to do with Sky. Have you checked the usual, different HDMI lead, different port on the TV. Have you set the resolution on the Sky Q box to match your new TV ...

If you still have the 'old' TV try that and see if the problem goes away.  That will eliminate the Sky box as 'faulty'.

Thanks all but the last TV wasn't good quality so I couldn't tell anyway.

Nice. Perhaps don't be rude when someone asks for genuine help. Have a great day, hope you feel better.

@Kate8  find it strange you saying Sky aren't answering your call. There may be a wait but the call should be answered eventually so I wonder what number your calling.

You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
On the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number for Ireland.

Say 'technical' when prompted, stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

Maybe if you posted an image of your 'blurry' screen it might help us figure out what the issue is.

Re: Picture Issues after buying new TV

Hi there,

I'm not sure what's so strange for you.  Sky is notorious for not answering or bothering to get back to customers.  I do not have sky mobile, nor sky talk line.

The 0333 is precisely the number I am calling and after waiting 25 mins it says your'e busy and to call another time.

No one has answered my email either.

Many thanks, and yes, I have photos of the TV picture but would very much like not to have to communicate with you over a public forum.

Not much point in continuing this then is there.
