On demand removing series link

Hi All

I'd like help with an on demand verses series link query to see if the "issue" is a technical one or me.

Scenario: I wanted to watch a 6 part series and only remembered it after episode 3 had aired, so I set the series link for the final episodes yet to air. For the first few I missed I used on demand to download.

My question is, does downloading the earlier missed episodes removes the series link for the latter as when I look in my recordings folder I see all the episodes in the series (ie all 6) with the download options for all including the 3 that were recorded via series link only.

With the exception of forgetting to set up series link earlier am I doing anything wrong? I find on demand downloads slower than the show so at some point whilst watching I get a warning of waiting to download more which is frustrating especiallyfor those i series linked (even when giving the download a good 30 minute headstart) . I'm reverting to watching on my phone, which makes me question why I'm  paying for sky as i barely watch the paid channels, cinema etc and the features I do like are failing me.

Help?

Thanks

@Charmainex  The only clarity I can give is with regards to the speed of download: live recordings / watching comes via your satellite dish, catchup comes via your internet connection; hence the later is dependant on your broadband speed and the status of your home WiFi.

I am just another Sky customer!

@Charmainex No, downloading episodes shouldn't remove any scheduled recordings. I can understand it also downloading the remaining episodes but are you sure that the scheduled recordings have disappeared.

As a solution to your slow downloads, why not download them in advance rather than at the time you want to watch them.

How fast is your broadband connection? Most should be able to handle HD downloads at replay speed and could be the famous "slow downloads" issue.

I appreciate this is a separate issue to your main question but seems to me it needs fixing too.
