On demand failure

Hi, why am I prevented from downloading content from on demand in standard definition.?

I carried out the usual checks mentioned elsewhere.

Is this a new strategy from sky to extract more money from existing customers?

hi @tony3609

Have you changed your download preference to SD in
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

@tony3609

I know you want to download in SD but do you have the HD add on? Is it asking you to upgrade?

We can potentially escalate your post to Sky. Sky will then try to refresh the viewing card which sometimes needs a couple of attempts. This link explains more:

Hi @tony3609

you say.........

I select SD and return to content and select. I get message...Failed, No Subscription.

As posted by @nigea99

........  it’s best to change your Download preference to SD in Home - Settings - Setup - Preferences. (Not in the all formats Tab)
This needs to be done on the main Q box.
Then if you want to download any HD content from free to air channels (BBCHD ,ITVHD etc) you can select HD in the All formats tab of the content . This will change the format for that particular download only but still leave your format to SD in preferences.
