I am trying to connect my Q BOX with a ethernet cable ---it tell you how to do it on screen then says it need an ip address be shows a page that dosen't fit the format of an ip address??? any ideas PLEASE,,,,

Hi @sylviaperry Assuming that you mean connect your Sky Q Main box to your Broadband router. I'm not sure why you are playing with IP addresses. It is extremely easy, just plug it in and go to Home -> Settings-> Setup -> Network -> Status -> Reset. It should automatically get an IP address from your router's DHCP server. If you don't have any Mini boxes then turn off WiFi. Ask back here if you don't know how to do that.
