Non-Sky mesh with multiroom set up.

I use Plusnet for my broadband and have Sky Q and 1 multiroom device.  I am looking to improve the WiFi coverage in the house and have read on many other posts that non-Sky mesh networks stop the multiroom working.  Some posts suggest connecting the sky boxes to the mesh nodes via ethernet cable so could someone confirm for me please that this works?  I'd add that whilst I understand quite a bit of tech, when it comes to Sky tech I'm a novice so would appreciate some simple instructions if possible. What I think I need to do is the following:

Set up the mesh network with three nodes - 1 connected by ethernet to the main Q box, 1 connected to the multiroom box and 1 in another part of the house just to extend the WiFi there.

Will this allow both the mesh network to function and the multiroom to continue to work? Will I need to reconfigure the WiFi set up in the sky boxes? They were a **bleep** to configure with the Plusnet in the first place!!

Thanks in advance

You won't set up wifi again on the sky boxes as you're not using wifi. You need to turn that off on the sky boxes, set up network again but using ethernet.

Should work, this is what I do with my Q. My minis use powerline adapters though.

Some people have said they've got it working but then it stops after a while. I suspect this is down to Q flooding the network and the mesh node blocking its traffic in some way (maybe a more advanced one but don't know, mine are old achool BT Wholehome)
