No satellite signal on certain channels

Sky has been acting up for a few months - lost signals, channels skipping etc. 

at the moment all virgin channels gone and reporting "no satellite signal" esp virgin media 1 & 2 and a few random others. 
still paying an extortionate bill and cannot get through to customer service
