No satellite signal at sky box

Hi all, I have "no satellite signal" at my main Sky Q box.  I bought a tester and I'm getting 90db at the sky dish, but only 60db at the Sky Q box (see photos).  Is that normal or is the drop in signal enough for the skybox not to work?  I have checked the coax and nothing is loose etc...  and previously done all the sky recommended trouble shooting like updating software etc...  WhatsApp Image 2024-09-28 at 12.23.57.jpegWhatsApp Image 2024-09-28 at 12.23.56.jpeg

hi @Squidge0602

I am afraid the meter you have bought may not be a great help with the Satellite Signal as it says it is DVB-T which is the transmission used by Terrsetrial Freeview aerials, so may be picking up signals fom your nearest transmitter

Satellite uses DVB-S2 (although some Sd channels still uses DVB-S)

As you have SKY Q then please see the following page that covers a few problems - if you follow the link through and still have problems then you should find a link to book an engineer if you have your own dish

Re: No satellite signal at sky box

@nigea99 does it at least confirm that the satellite receiver on the dish is actually working?  Because if it is that means it's either just misaligned or a bad cable/connection somewhere.  Cheers,  MP
