No live tv on skyq minibox

  • SkyQ Multiroom installed Wednesday. (replacing Sky+HD Multiroom).
    All good and working as advertised.

  • Sky FTTP broadband installed Friday. (replacing Sky Broadband Unlimited).
    SkyQ box all good.
  • SkyQ minibox - no live TV available on ANY channel.
    Sky in account service checker reports all is good. All online help steps attempted and completed on SkyQ box, SkyQ Minibox and Sky Hub. Power cycling and reactivation steps completed as per forum advice. SkyQ Minibox still exhibits "no live tv fault" as originally encountered Friday night.
  • Minibox CAN access TV Guide and set recordings.
    Minibox CAN view recording thumbnails but will not play any selected programme.
    Minibox CAN view streaming content via the Home->Apps section.
    (all channels) When in minibox Home menu - miniTV shows "programme unavailable" on screen message and exiting to main screen shows blue screen with banner header stating "please check your subscription entitles you to view this channel on this box. Otherwise, if your using this box for the first time, please wait a few minutes".

Been doing "ma nut" in all  weekend lol.

Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated.

Sky Engineer been and gone - all up and running and looking good.

There were no hardware or setup errors/faults within the home setup.

Error was an account subscription setting at the Sky end. Engineer wee bit miffed that it was not checked or found prior to his callout lol.

@DaFugly Just to clarify, the Mini Box was working fine until the Broadband was changed on Friday?

The content is delivered by the main box to the mini box, so it sounds like this is what is playing up.

 

I presume when you say you have power cycled this has included the main box.

Even if not, please may I suggest you do power restart (unplug or switch off at mains) the main box, followed by the minii again 

 

After that it may be  a case of contacting SKY

It possible that installing the new internet has mucked up. You connection between the minibus and the main box. Yes there is no direct connection between the mini box and your internet router as it connect directly to your main box  but they both work on 5ghz WiFi.  If you recycleing the box has not resolved the problem try doing a complete resetting your mini box and go though the procedure of connecting your mini box to mai box as if was a new set up.

@DaFugly Just out of curiosity did you change routers when you moved to FTTP ?

 

What colour of Sky router do you have black or white ?

  • @oj01  Minibox was working fine until after broadband instal.

  • @nigea99  I have power cycled all Sky products a number of times and as you suggested did main box followed by mini box again. No resolution.

  • @DaveDrizen  After completing power cycling as per @nigea99 above i have factory reset, via engineers menu,  the mini box.
    No resolution.

  • @Laing1  The router was NOT changed on FTTP 500 setup. We have the black sky hub.

Sky have been contacted and an engineer has been scheduled for Monday.

Interesting side note - when in contact with Sky agent i was asked to explain the problem. Rather than explain i directed him to this community post which he read and agreed to book me an engineer there and then. Much Happiness.
