No internet connection

I'm having a real problem connecting my SkyQ box to my wifi. Over the last few days I've been unable to reconnect my wifi to the skybox. It keeps telling me that I have no internet connection. All other devices in the home are connected to wifi with no problem accessing the internet.

I've gone through all the troubleshooting guides a number of times, but it's still not connecting. I have also tried hard wiring the box to an ethernet cable, and although it then says that it's connected to my router, - how can it not be! - It still doesn't connect to the outside world.

It doesn't help that I've forgotten the password to access the wifi, and can't find anywhere as to how to reset it to what I want.

I've done a complete reset and it still doesn't connect. I'm wondering now whether the wifi radio has packed up.

Any help would be good.

Thanks

Hi @SteveC528

Assume you tried resetting the WiFi as follows:-

First reset your broadband router.
If on Sky broadband hold the Reset on the back of the router until the power light flashes green (about 10 seconds). Don't unplug or switch off your router while it resets. The power light will go green when it's done.
If on 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
If you are on Sky Broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
if you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band..

You WiFi password if you haven't changed it will be shown on your router.

Re: No internet connection

Thanks Oldfella.

You're right, I have done all of the above. I have a non-sky router with 3rd party supplier. I'm not sure what happened to change everything. It's been working fine for the past few years !!!!
