No Satellite Signal

I am in a residential home with my own Satellite dish. Since yesterday,  I have no satellite signal as per my Sky Q box.

I checked my dish and no obvious issues. Tried powering off sky box at mains and checked cables. All seems fine but issue with no satellite signal still persists.

Can you help or does an engineer need to call to resolve?

@Mwalsh36
If you’re seeing a “no satellite signal” message check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s very likely a dish misalignment or possibly a failing LNB (on the arm of the dish) so check the troubleshooting on this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.

It’s worth noting that:

▪️ a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels

▪️ a Sky Q box requires a periodic 'Keep alive' signal that is delivered via the satellite so if that isn’t received the box will close down until the satellite signal is restored.

No satellite signal

I am in a residential home with my own Satellite dish. Since yesterday,  I have no satellite signal as per my Sky Q box.   I checked my dish and no obvious issues. Tried powering off and all the other tricks. Then went to online help, followed theit advice, then they went to book an engineer for Saturday...then said no engineers available ....then start all over again?!   Wasted 90 minutes tonight, no TV, and will go to bed! Then the online account said order new box... then that wouldn't work. Nothing works or resolved.
Having any problems with Sky is a nightmare to resolve and I wonder why I stay with them.

@SteveB111

You seem to have asked the exact same question that @Mwalsh36 did an hour or so earlier with the same terminology. Are you @Mwalsh36 using a different log in name?

I have merged your posts as the advice remains the same as above,

Re: No satellite signal

Try again

No I'm not that other person at all.  I used the start of his message as so similar and then added my personal comments.  I've booked an engineer now as got nowhere myself or online. Same person, really!!

Re: No satellite signal

Engineer came today and changed the dish, which was badly corroded after 9 years, as house is near the coast.

Great news. That's excellent service to get an engineer out the next day.

So inside 24hours they replaced something for free, including labour, which is officially your property.

Maybe that's why you stay with Sky 😉
