No Connection & not able to reset by holding WPS button down

I have 'No Network Connection' on my TV despite the fact that my Sky Wifi is working just fine. I have tried resetting it by holding down the WPS button on the Sky Q router however it is not working (it has worked successfully in the past however not working now).

Please help

Hi @hackneykp

Are you carrying out the following procedure?

Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router.
On Sky broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.

You have 2 minutes after carrying out the Network to press WPS button on the router.

@hackneykp  If it's sky hub then you do have a WPS button, if it's the larger upright hub the wps button is on the right hand side as you look at the front.

Hi @hackneykp

If you are on Sky Broadband then your Sky router has a WPS button.

See below.

Revisit my. Earlier post and carry out the Network reset on the main Q box.

'Press the WPS on the Sky Q broadband router not the Q box.

Re: No Connection & not able to reset by holding WPS button down

You cannot reset the network settings unless you are connected to a network - it will not give you the option in the menu - I have connected to another hotspot and reset the defaut settings - this looks to be a router issue

I have had exactly the same issue and have worked this through as far as I can go now (network and electroic product engineer) - something appears to have changed or failed for many people at similar times

Very same thing as me. I've been trying for days and it keeps saying unsuccessful connection. We only change to Q Sky few weeks ago. It's the worst thing we ever did. We regret it big time.
try ring sky so hard to talk to a physical person. 😢

Re: No Connection & not able to reset by holding WPS button down

I've had the same issue for two weeks now. I'm glad I'm not the only one. We've been with Sky for 15+ years, I'll eventually be cancelling my subscription with them. The service has gone from bad to horrid over the past couple of years.

Which one?

This thread is one of hundreds about wifi connection problems and has some random wps stuff in it which doesn't make a lot of sense.

Re: No Connection & not able to reset by holding WPS button down

I have a fix for this issue.

Log in to your hubs GUI ( 192.168.0.1 )

Enter user name  ( admin )

Enter password ( same as your hub password )

In the WiFi Tab, look down to Security Options Change to the fourth option

Save

The connect Sky Q box with WPS 👍👍

Re: No Connection & not able to reset by holding WPS button down

We have a new Sky Q box and a new Sky Router. The WiFi is up and running and we are connected through all our other devices, however, when I try and reset the Sky Q box to connect the search ends with "Search unsuccessful". I am pressing the WPS button while the search takes place and a green light flashes on the front of the router - still no connection. I have tried this process several times with no success - the router is in the same room as the Sky Q box so there shouldn't be any need for a booster. Very frustrating as this should be such a simple process with up to date and expensive technology.

Being in the same room, you'd be better off connecting your Sky Q to your router via direct ethernet cable.

I am just another Sky customer!
