Next firmware update Sky Q

I hear some people have it updated after the Q210 on Sky Q. Mine is still this one

Re: Next firmware update Sky Q

I don't have much faith in that Sky care about Q anymore as they have glass and steam to occupy them.

they won't make anything better as it's essentially a dead product and service they don't want to upkeep anymore.
they would more than happy to get everyone online onto their other bad service but just 1 instead of supporting 2

@seandrews I have to agree with you. I mentioned this to them and of course they said this was not the case, but I suspect what you are saying is accurate, and sooner rather than later, they will only help with issues on glass and stream. I am not going anywhere till they drop the prices on the new products, especially for current long term customers

Updates are phased - you can't override it.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@Super+Anthony @seandrews

With millions of households using it, Q is hardly 'dead'.  It is, however, a mature product that just isn't going to change very much from its current form because that's basically complete, at least as far as the current hardware can support.

Re: Next firmware update Sky Q

I think the chances of Sky releasing another product with a PVR is virtually zero but I'd love to be completely wrong.

Probably, at best perhaps a small hardware revision.

'Sky' doesn't get to make strategic decisions anymore: direction of travel is dictated by Comcast, and Stream ('Flex 4K' in the US) would seem to demonstrate that they consider the days of the PVR to be over.

Indeed. You can be sure that it was a Comcast rep that wanted the final scene in this Stream ad:

I thought there was a basic principle in advertising that it's really dangerous to undermine confidence in your current product while promoting a new one...
