Having new sky box today, current one not working.

Courier sent msg ( dpd), have old one ready.

Now sky person didn't mention about exchanging old one with new.

Yup, remember to remove your viewing card from the old box!

You will lose all recordings.  Purchases can be downloaded as required.

@Trail+blazer

The exchange will take place on your doorstep. Courier will place your old box etc into the box the new one came in, place a label on it and return the faulty one to Sky so you will need to disconnect it all before arrival.

That's how it works if you don't schedule an engineer to swap it for you.

Unplug your current box, unscrew the satellite cables at the back, remove the HDMI cable and ethernet cable (if using one) and remove your viewing card from the slot and keep it handy.

When the courier arrives give them the Q box, remote and power cable and they will give you replacements for each item. They will box up your old items and return them to Sky.

All you need to do is reconnect all the cables you removed from your old box to the new box, so screw on the satellite cables, connect the HDMI cable (and ethernet if using) then insert your viewing card and connect the power.
