New handset
We've got a new Sky Box with new handset, but the handset is not working properly.
we contacted Dky last night and were told that an Engineer would come today but no one has appeared?

Are you sure Sky told you an engineer was being sent out? An engineer would not normally be sent for a faulty remote control and the likelihood of one being available the next day is also unusual.

Is this a replacement Sky Q box delivered by a courier?
Have a read of this Sky Q article, namely trying a re pair of your remote control on step 3;

As above, be surprised if Sky would send out an engineer to fix a remote control problem.
