New Sky Q Box

Hi - I am looking to sign a new 24 month contract. My Sky Box is from 2017 and i'd like a new one. Do I get one automaically or do I need to request one? When I go through the upgrade process there is no mention of it. Thanks

hi @ajoescott

There probably aren't any new ones  as we think manufacturing ceased a few years ago.

Any later boxes are likely to be refurbished.

SKY will replace failing boxes but otherwise they only replace if people specifically seek an upgrade (to a 2TB or HDR box) and there is usually a charge for this

(BTW the latest boxes are 1TB HDR boxes (known on these forums as V3 boxes) - there are also 2TB versions but these seem very thin on the ground so those wanting 2TB HDR boxes usually get a slightly older V2 box with a separate power supply & customers cannot specify they want a V3 2TB box - just 2TB HDR & get whatever SKY have available)
